Jaslastar Aerospace is a military hardware manufacturer in the Federated Suns.

History

One of the major manufacturers of AeroSpace Fighters in the Federated Suns, Jalastar held a number of contracts for the manufacture of fighters for the SLDF's Regular Army since the earliest days of the Star League. The company, being located near the periphery of the FedSun's border with the Taurian Concordat, took advantage of the Reunification War to profit by selling equipment and supplies.[1]

Once the Star League fell, Jalastar didn't hesitate in offering the swift and deadly Sparrowhawk to the AFFS.[2]

In the 29th Century, the Jalastar created its own security forces, to strengthen its ablity to prevent pirate activity from taking away from its stockpiles.

In 3025, the company had been thrown into a state of confusion. An unknown company had been buying up significant amount of the corporation's controlling stocks. Jalastar was forced to buy up at accelerated rate its own stock before it could be taken over. This drained the company's resources, preventing it from completing new lighter engine it had been developing for its Sparrowhawk design.[3] It was later revealled that Federated-Boeing had attempted but failed to take control of Jalastar.[4]

By the mid-31st Century, the corporation has branched out to open new production 'Mech division. In 3047, Coren Enterprises gave Jalastar a limited production license. The corporation began to produce the Centurion in limited quanties.[5] In 3055, the company started producing Davion's favoured light BattleMech design, the Javelin.[6]

The corporation has faired very well security-wise since before the Succession Wars and up to the FedCom Civil War. However, by 3067, the local AFFS garrison forces was considerly drained, making the corporation vulnerable to a full scale invasion of Panpour.[7]

Leadership

In 3025 the companies CEO is Count Edwas Tiehala[2], he is replaced by Countess Iriana Salvas, she is also the new companies head in 3067.[1]

Notes

Designs that have been noted with (As of 3XXX) indicate the approximate date it appeared. The JVN-11D first appeared in print in TRO: 3050 Upgrade, which talks about the unit being experimental, available in limited production. It does not mention the exact date it premiers, but TRO 3050 was "updated" as of 3071: thus the date. Other units may be similarily listed.

All Fusion Engines where shipped in from GM on Talcot.[17]
