Janella Lakewood was a noblewoman and Paladin of the Republic of the Sphere.

History[edit]

Early Life[edit]

Born on Fletcher to Andrea and Sir Thomas Lakewood,[3] she attended Murchison Academy. There she received her military and MechWarrior training. Upon graduation, instead of joining Stone's Pride Regiment, she went to law school where she graduated third in her class.[1]

She became licensed to practice law, and The Republic found her very useful as a negotiator in certain disputes. She was known for working hard to solve problems without resorting to violence, though aware that there were times that might not be possible.[1]

As Knight-Errant[edit]

Her varied skills and impressive achievements both on and off the field of battle brought her to the attention of the Knights of the Sphere, who offered her a chance to be inducted into their Order.[1]

She traveled between worlds as a diplomat, troubleshooter, and tactical reaction for the Republic of the Sphere as a Knight-Errant.[4] She worked closely in her Knight-Errant years with Republic Intelligence, which included Paladin Victor Steiner-Davion and Ghost Knight Mason Dunne, who was also her lover.

As ever, her skill, tenacity, and achievements led her to pass through the Knight-Errant phase very quickly, and was appointed Knight.[1]

As a Knight[edit]

She was known for the battles on Basalt and Ronel in 3133 after the Blackout. She was responsible for naming Raul Ortega as Knight-Errant for his actions on Achernar.[5]

As a Paladin[edit]

She was promoted to Paladin in November 3134 to replace Daniel Peterson.[6]

BattleMech[edit]

Lady Lakewood was known to pilot a red and gold[7] Tundra Wolf named Andrea[8][1] in honor of her mother.[1]

Notes[edit]

Janella Lakewood is the in-universe author of the Technical Readout: 3145 series of equipment dossiers.[9][10]
