Cleanup tagged articles without a reason field Nikol Marik – 32nd Century, Free Worlds League Noblewoman, whom is the youngest child of Captain-General Jessica Halas-Hughes Marik & Sir Philip Hughes. She is a young intelligent woman, whom has groomed as potential heir to Oriente Protectorate, to succeed her mother, Jessica. She is been trained primary as a diplomat. She been also trained as Mechwarrior, briefly commanding her mother’s personal elite combat battalion, the Eagle’s Talons.

She has four other siblings: much older siblings Janos & Julietta, and her slightly more contemporary siblings of Elis and Christopher. She is noted for her jade green eyes and red-blonde color hair.

Character History

Early life & Career

Nikol’s mother selected her to join her on her trip to Terra for Victor Steiner-Davion’s funeral in 3135. Where she secretly began being tested and educated in ways of diplomacy. First taking stopping off former FWL independent world of Asellus Australis. She witnessed her mother attempt to convince Asellus Australis’ & its neighboring world’s leaders to join Oriente.

On Terra, she meets many of the young nobles from various Inner Sphere & Clan powers. She becomes very good friend of Daoshen Liao’s youngest sister, Danai Liao-Centrella. She meets her mother’s rivals for the throne of Free Worlds League: Anson Marik & Lester Cameron-Jones. She also attended secret meeting between her mother and Doashen Liao in regards both nation’s plans to taking Republic of the Sphere worlds.

In 3136 her friend Danai arrived on Oriente, in diplomatic mission. Nikol witnessed her mother’s harshness towards her due to actions that House Liao had conducted against their unwritten agreement on Terra. Nikol in return confides in Danai, not taking her mother’s point of view and tries find out what is bothering her. Danai confines with her that she was raped by Caleb Davion.

She was present in Danai's negotiations for no-nonsense agreement to between her and Lady Marik to go back to Sian and have her brother write a formal written agreement between Oriente and Confederation. After month, Danai returns with "concrete promises" to have written agreement and makes up with Nikol who she thought had betrayed her trust. Nikol gives reassuring hug to Danai that she will do well, in her military campaign to reclaim worlds, over come her defeat to egotistical Republic military commander.

Nikol was given the command of her mother’s elite Eagle Talon Battalion to conduct military campaign to claim independent worlds near Oriente’s borders. The military campaign started in January of 3137, where her Eagle's Talons annexed three worlds; Asellus Australis, Oceana, and Angell II. Her task force intercepted aerospace forces of the Marik-Stewart Commonwealth to reinforce on their way to besieged world of Marik. Delaying their arrival and preventing bulk of them reinforces to arrive in time rescue sister units on Marik fighting Clan Spirit Cats for control of the planet. Her force arrives in Marik space, to discover the world had taken by the Cats. She then discovers that the world is now under the domain of both the Spirit Cats and the Clan Sea Fox.

She returned to Oriente with her sister Julietta who had been sent to Marik as envoy to the Spirit Cats. After their return, her family suffered from an attempt on assassination of her brother Janos and her sister Julietta. The attack left Janos dead and Julietta in a coma. Her mother speculated that this attack was done to prevent them from reforming the Free World League.

In January, 3138 Nikol was later detached from her Eagle Talon’s and given new assignment by her mother. Her mission was to setup ‘’Liberation units’’ on the former Marik-Stewart worlds in effort to bind them to Oriente's government. Also find many former Marik-Stewart forces that survived the Lyran-Wolf invasion, specially the Silver Hawk Irregulars and try to convince them to join forces with her. She accompanies her Talon’s from Oriente, where she gave command of the Eagles to her executive officer, Force Commander Ivan Casson. Nikol only took the Talon’s light infantry assets and their DropShip Pontiac with her first leg of her diplomatic mission.

She infiltrates Lyran controlled world of Gallatin, makes contract with one of worlds liberation units in March. She becomes their contact person, offering supplies and in future arms to resistance. In course of travelling from world to world, among the Clan & Lyran occupied worlds and other non-Oriente worlds. She becomes more dedicated to helping and aiding people of the League. At one point having to give herself own title of Minister-General[1] .

Nikol visits Marik-Stewart Commonwealth world of Ares, where she meets Viscount Farrow, whom convinces her value of his world administrative powers and ability to collect information . He tries to swooning her to his cause. Ultimately, Captain-General Jessica Marik to take world under their protection knowing how war with Lyrans & Wolves was going to turn out.

By October, she lands on New Hope and finds the Silver Hawks Irregulars base. She meets with them, to convince them that to support her mother bid to reunify the Free World League, and strength every to resist the Lyrans & the Wolves. At the same time, her mother marries Thaddeous Marik in political marriage, where he intern adopts Nikol and her siblings his children. Officially making her part of the Marik family.

In July 3139, Nikol position of Minister-General has become official position of new Free World League government, handling the domestic affairs of the people of the League. She acting as direct aide to the Captain-General.[2]
