Overview
Oriente Weapon Works (or Oriente Weaponworks Corporation) is a weapons manufacturer in the Free Worlds League. They specialize in the production of missile systems used in BattleMechs and combat vehicles. Formerly owned completely by the League, since the start of the Third Succession War OWW has been a publicly traded company. Ironically, their dedication to paying dividends to their shareholders has prevented Oriente Weapon Works from funding a substantial R&D group. Instead they simply produce missile systems that are used across the League.[1]
Recently they began producing Streak missile launchers. The company didn't design these, but instead benefited from a technology transfer agreement with Lycomb-Davion IntroTech.[1] Their other advanced weapon system, the LB 10-X used by a Marauder variant, was created via serendipity. Oriente's plant had a production line for the Star League-era weapon that had shut down. During the 3040's technological renaissance the company was able to restart the line.[1]
