Planetary History[edit]

Third Succession War[edit]

Following the revolution on Hortense in 2995 that ousted him from power, Baron Jean-Paul Grandin took his family and a number of families loyal to him into exile on Vaucluse. Whilst Jean-Paul drew on the aid of fellow members of the Warrior's Cabal to found a private army—the "Noble Order of Saint Louis on Hortense"—with the intention of reclaiming his ancestral seat, these ambitions were never realized. Instead, the exiles largely integrated into society on Vaucluse, with the Noble Order serving as political muscle for various Cabalists while the Grandins shifted their focus to various business opportunities and investments in the Crucis March. By the mid-thirty-first century the Grandins had largely given up on aspirations of reclaiming their rule over Hortense, but continued to claim the title of Baron and maintained a loyalist community on Vaucluse. The heir to the Barony, Pierre Grandin, reorganized and expanded the Noble Order into a more conventional mercenary unit named Grandin's Crusaders in or around 3062 and took them away on various contracts in the Chaos March; Pierre subsequently inherited the title of Baron in 3065 without bothering to return to Vaucluse. In February 3066, he used his new position to oust his cousin Jenna from her position as executive officer of the Crusaders, instead appointing her to manage the loyalist community on Vaucluse.[34]

Military Deployment[edit]

3079[edit]

- At this point in time, the 1st Filtvelt Citizen's Militia were deployed across Hephzibah, Redondo, and Vaucluse. The 1st was at 70% of full strength.
