Description

An attempt by Clan Wolf to replace their totem 'Mech, the Warwolf is a 75 ton 'Mech conceived around long range and extremely accurate ballistic fire. At first glance the design seems to be lightly armed for its size and weight, however weapons are augmented by a Targeting Computer. The Warwolf is rather mobile, sporting jump jets which make it deadly at any range. To prevent any problems from ammunition explosions, this 'Mech is equipped with CASE II.

This 'Mech became famous when Clan Wolf launched its new waves onto the Inner Sphere but also when a Clan affiliated MechWarrior, Valerius Deodatus, brought one into Solaris VII arenas. As a relatively new design, it is reserved for Clan Wolf elite MechWarriors. Some MechWarriors, like Markus Kerensky, became famous with the use of the Mech's Gauss Rifle against enemy 'Mechs. This 'Mech often fights with its well-known partner, the Wulfen.

Armament

The Warwolf sports a single Gauss Rifle, and two LRM-10s. A Clan Targeting Computer makes the Gauss Rifle extremly accurate to the point where skilled pilots can specifically target certain parts of any 'Mech at unbelievable ranges. Because the Warwolf would engage targets at an extreme range, the most common weapons fire back would also be ballistic and missile fire, which is why the 'Mech is armored with reactive armor.

Variants

Some Warwolf variants replace the TAG with an Advanced Anti-Missile System.

Notes

This design became famous among Mechwarrior: Age of Destruction players when one of future tournament-prize, "Vindicated" Warwolf, was officialy unreleased. But soon, some firm-new examplars pop-up among players, and so the Warwolf was soon remembered as the "forgotten tournament-prize" design, still unplayable in tournament (the same phenomena appeared with the well-known "Deception" Incubus.
