The Eighty-first Mechanized Infantry Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.

History[edit]

In 2764, the unit was stationed on Barras,[3] assigned as part of LVIII Corps, Seventh Army to District 3 of the Capellan Confederation Military Region.[1] The Eighty-first participated in local events and cooperated well with Capellan Confederation Armed Forces units, earning their respect and goodwill.[2]

The Eighty-first was deployed into an undisclosed area of the Periphery in 2765, where they took heavy losses during the Periphery Uprising and had been disbanded in 2766. A complete sub-unit of the division, the Fourth Tau Ceti Rangers regiment survived the war and opted not to join General Aleksandr Kerensky on the Exodus but instead became mercenaries in the employ of the Capellan Confederation in 2784.[1][4]

The Division comprised two brigades of mechanized infantry and a single BattleMech brigade. Also attached was a ground aero wing.[5]

In 2761, the Eighty-first was gifted a battalion of Xanthos BattleMechs by the CCAF.[2]
