Unit History[edit]
One of three major commands within the Fighting Urukhai, the Bar Hounds served alongside the DeMaestri's Sluggers and Roman's Bar Hounds.
Formation[edit]
The Bar Hounds formed alongside the Sluggers and the Eighth Striker in 2795, one of a number of mercenary units to form from former Star League Defense Force personnel who elected to remain behind when Commanding General Aleksandr Kerensky took the majority of the SLDF on the Exodus. The Bar Hounds and the other regiments of the Uruk-hai were first employed by the Federated Suns.[2]
First Succession War[edit]
In 2821, the Eighth Striker were deployed along the rest of the Brigade in Robinson.[1]
Third Succession War[edit]
In 3025, the Eighth Striker were deployed along the rest of the Brigade in Pierce.[3]
Fourth Succession War[edit]
In 3028, the Eighth Striker were deployed along the rest of the Brigade in Ziliang.[3]
FedCom Civil War[edit]
In the April of 3066 two DropShips of the Fighting Urukhai arrived over Taurus after making their way through Flannagan's Nebulea and the Hyades Cluster. Because they were Overlords of a Davion employed mercenary unit, had reached the capital of the Concordat without a guide leading them through the Hyades, and were approaching fast from a Pirate Jump Point the TDF destroyed both ships without asking questions.
The Urukhai claimed that the mercenaries just wanted to bargain for a contract and in August DeMaestri's Sluggers the second regiment of the Urukhai assaulted Taurus out of revenge. They caused great damage on the capital and its defending units before being destroyed completely by the combined Taurian Guards.

Notes[edit]
- The spelling of "Fighting Urukhai" changed frequently between - and sometimes within - sources, with variations including "Urukhai", "Uruk-hai", "Urakhai" and others.
- There is an inconsistency on DeMaestri's Sluggers' demise. The 180th Dragoon Combat Group allegedly destroys it during the FedCom Civil War in Panpour, but it is also destroyed by the Eighteenth Dieron Regulars during the War of 3039 and also on Taurus by the Taurian Guard. Some of them must be wrong. Maybe the unit destroyed was the Eighth Striker.
