History[edit]
As the commander of the Black Dawn, a small Periphery Mercenary unit based on Charleston in the Taurian Concordat, Kovago was surreptitious hired by the Federated Suns to attack a supposedly poorly defended Pirate base on an uninhabited world in October 3062. Despite concerns about the trustworthiness of the Davion offer from his XO Captain Timea Stieber Kovago accepted the contract, both because of an experimental AGS-4D Argus BattleMech the Davion liaison officer Leftenant Colonel Nigel Thompson offered as a sign-on bonus, and the chance it provided to start building up the Black Dawn into a higher profile unit.
Upon landing on the target world (Coordinates 421.6, -399.2) on 19 November, Kovago soon discovered he had been engaged under false pretenses however, with the mission actually being to test the performance of the Argus against a secret Word of Blake base. While Kovago and the Black Dawn managed to retreat off-world and get paid by the Federated Suns, Kovago lost seven Dawn MechWarriors including his XO Captain Stieber.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Kovago was known to have piloted a JagerMech BattleMech. His was upgraded to an AGS-4D Argus, provided by the Federated Suns, as payment for his November 3062 raid on the Word of Blake.[1]
