Baron Deimos von Schetzle was, as of 3067, a mercenary and Lyran Alliance noble.[1]
History[edit]
Until Deimos's father Rayner, House von Schetzle was a Lyran military family, each generation serving the Lyran state directly. Rayner instead became a mercenary, as would Deimos.[2] Deimos became the commander of the Bloody Stoats, a mercenary unit that prior to October 3067 had a base on Phobos, a planetoid in the Gienah system.[1] He had a daughter named Shannon, who he left behind on his home planet of Bolan.[3]
Sometime prior to 24 October 3067, the Stoats, under Deimos, were hired to capture Free Worlds League General Gurald Eichner in preparation for a Lyran invasion of the League.[1] As Eichner had defected from the Lyrans, Deimos halved his price.[2]
On 24 October 3067, to capture Eichner, the Stoats attempted to hijack the Avenger-class DropShip Requirement near Gienah. Deimos had arranged, through spies in League ranks, for eight Nellus Academy cadets to be aboard[2], who he intended to murder and ransom back dead.[4] This proved a mistake for the mercenaries. The cadets forcefully resisted the hijacking, leading to the DropShip crashing on Phobos, close to the Stoats' base. Fighting continued for two days, until a League force recovered the surviving cadets. In the end, the Stoats, rather than capturing General Eichner as intended, had killed Eichner and half of the cadets, lost most (if not all) of the hijackers and CO Deimos's Commando, suffered severe damage to their base, and allowed Deimos's intelligence-filled noteputer to be taken by the League. The invasion plan was, as a result, exposed to the Free Worlds League.[1] Whether Deimos survived is unknown.
BattleMechs[edit]
Deimos, prior to the 3067 Eichner capture attempt, piloted a Commando. The 'Mech was stolen by Nellus cadets and destroyed in the clash.[1]
Description[edit]
As of 3067, Deimos had short brown hair and no facial hair. He was a touch chubby and of average height.[2]
