General Della al-Nahib was the commander of the Twelfth Vegan Rangers Mercenary unit from 3116 to at least 3147.[1][2][3][4]

Inheritance[edit]
The daughter of former Twelfth Vegan Rangers commanding officer General Miller al-Nahib, command passed to Della on his retirement in 3116. After she inherited command, she transferred the unit from its longstanding home in the Federated Suns to the Marik-Stewart Commonwealth in search of better opportunities.
Vega Protectorate[edit]
While the Rangers did not see much action in the Free Worlds League, they were paid better than they would have been in the Federated Suns, and remained within the League for around twenty years. Della and the Rangers later signed on with Jacob Bannson in mid-3133. Under Bannson's orders, they were sent to Vega to assist in driving off a Draconis Combine invasion in 3136.[1] Arriving as a welcome surprise to the defending forces, who were under the control of Galaxy Commander Isis Bekker-Florala on 1 December, 3136, the Rangers took over combat operations from the beleaguered Vegan natives. Della announced that the Rangers would help fight for the freedom of their spiritual home world thanks to the funds provided by Bannson.[5]
After accepting Bekker-Florala's offer of a new home base, Della and her Rangers assisted the Galaxy Commander in forming the Vega Protectorate. Della and the Twelfth Vegan Rangers remained on world for the next five years, ensuring that the Protectorate could stand on its own before accepting another long-term contract with the Federated Suns in 3141. During their stay, they repulsed an attack by the Fifth Sword of Light.[1]
Ulan Batar[edit]
Upon their return to Federated Suns territory in 3145, Della and the Rangers were assigned to a base on Ulan Batar, where they were attacked by the First Liao Grenadiers. For several months of pitched fighting, the Rangers sparred with the Capellan unit but were unable to stabilize the surrounding region.[1][2]
Task Force Styx[edit]
Eventually managing to disengage from the Liao Grenadiers and retreat off-world, the Rangers were assigned to Operation CERBERUS an AFFS strategic plan with the goal of liberating New Syrtis. They were made a part of Task Force Styx, a combination of regularly Davion-friendly mercenaries and traditional house units. In December 3147, following AFFS landings on New Syrtis, Della was directed by Julian Davion to have her unit secure the Saso Statehouse, which was where Duchess Amanda Hasek had been executed by the Capellan occupiers.[3]
