History[edit]
Galaxy Commander Stephanie Chistu's Delta Galaxy was sent to Brazil, which held the most populous city in the Western Hemisphere of Terra: Redoubt São Paulo. The city was heavily fortified, and defended by the Amazonians under Brigadier General Guerra. The siege lasted for over three days, with the Jade Falcons advancing steadily though with difficulty. General Guerra led the Primeiro Regimento, the light BattleMech regiment of the Thirty-First, from hiding into a counterattack in the Falcon rear. Chistu withdrew from contact with the city's outer defenses and sent the Fifth Battle Cluster on a combat-drop to the Guerra's rear, catching the light regiment between her forces. During the battle, Chistu disabled Guerra's Osprey.[2]
Guerra attempted to surrender, but Chistu's orders were to execute prisoners. Instead, Guerra and her officers were made bondsmen, and the rest of the Thirty-First were recorded as having abandoned their equipment and vanished into the jungle.[1]
