Teaser Text[edit]

Zeta Battalion, Wolf's Dragoons (3000-3067). In the sixty-odd years since Zeta's first Inner Sphere deployment on Halloran V, only a handful of units had ever stood against the Battalion's full fury. On 9 December 3067 they issued their final test, to the Word of Blake forces on Mars. Colonel J. Elliot Jamison proudly led Zeta Battalion across the plains of Chryse Planitia in what ended up as the last day of Zeta Battalion...

Plot Summary[edit]

Told from the viewpoint of Major Tara Lucas, the story narrates how Wolf's Dragoons' famous Zeta Battalion is lost in the Allied Mercenary Command's ill-fated attack on Mars. Weakened from losses during planetfall and against hostile environmental conditions, strong enemy forces, and even orbital bombardment from enemy WarShips, Zeta Battalion nevertheless relentlessly and stubbornly continues the attack, knowing that they cannot turn back. In command, after the death of Colonel J. Elliot Jamison, Tara Lucas rallies the troops for a last frontal assault.
