Formation
The Thirteenth was built from the remains of the shattered 9th Sun Zhang Academy Cadre and the 12th Sun Zhang Academy Cadre. New academy graduates serve to fill out the balance of the unit.

Dominion War
The 13th Cadre was based on Luthien at the beginning of this fight but launched a preemptive strike on the Ghost Bear world of Porthos. There they engaged the 5th Phalanx.[1] They then redeployed to Komephoros.[2]
