The Thirty-eighth Marik Militia was one of a dozen regiments of the Marik Militia to be raised in the period between the eruption of the Amaris Civil War in 2765[1] and the onset of the First Succession War in 2786. The Thirty-eighth was stationed on Augustine in 2786.[2]
First Succession War[edit]
The Thirty-eighth was one of the regiments of the Marik Militia that took part in Captain-General Kenyon Marik's famous "path to Sarna" offensive in the opening stages of the First Succession War. Operating alongside the Nineteenth and Twentieth Marik Militias, the Thirty-ninth landed on Second Chance during the first wave of the campaign in February 2787. Defending Second Chance at the time were the Twentieth Liao Lancers, a newly-formed regiment mustered to defend Ramen II, but which had been redeployed to Second Chance after the Third Tikonov Lancers had been reassigned to annexing worlds within the Terran Hegemony in 2785. Also in the Second Chance system was a naval picket from the Sarna Commonality Squadron, consisting of the Du Shi Wang-class battleship CCS Mica Liao and the Soyal-class heavy cruiser CCS Solstice.[3]
