Description
The Arctic Wolf II is a Clan Wolf-in-Exile Medium OmniMech that was developed during the Jihad, finally deployed by 3085. The design is based on the OmniMech variant of the original Arctic Wolf. The original OmniMech version number problems including technical glitches and its lack of speed. The Arctic Wolf II addressed these problems by giving the 'Mech original parent design's speed, the original non-omni design's Light Force 280 rated XL Fusion Engine was installed. To help tactical capacities that were gain in the failed OmniMech' J Configuration, seven Grandthrust Mk. 4 Jump Jets are installed in base capacity of the 'Mech. The 'Mech is has over 14 tons of pod space made available to its engineers to install weapons and equipment. Perhaps one of the Arctic Wolf II's only weaknesses, is its the light armor protection, where it only boast 6.5 ton of Ferro Fibrous armor.[2]
Armament
The 'Mech Primary Configuration is tailored to short-range engagements. They consist of four Streak SRM 4 launchers mounted in arms and side torso locations. The launchers have only one ton of ammunition to supply the four launchers. As backup weaponry, the 'Mech has pair of right torso Small Pulse Lasers. The configuration also features a Active Probe and a ECM Suite.[3]
Alternate Configurations
- Alt. Config. A - Design for long-range engagements, the Configuration boasts pair of should mounted LRM 15 launchers with three tons of ammunition. The launchers are backed up by pair of ER Medium Lasers mounted in each of the 'Mech arms. Weapons heat issues are immigrated by addition of a single Double Heat Sink. BV(2.0)=2,111[4]
- Alt. Config. B - Designed for flanking actions, the B Configuration has four standard SRM 4 launchers mounted in its arm and side torso pod locations. A single Large Pulse Laser and Small Pulse Laser make up 'Mech back up weaponry. The 'Mech is equipped with a single Double Heat Sink and three tons of ammunition for its short ranged missile launchers. BV(2.0)=1,678[5]
- Alt. Config. C - The Wolves created the C Configuration to suit the role as fast harasser. It comes with pair of arm mounted ER Large Lasers for ranged attacks. For short ranges, the "C" is equipped with pair of side torso SRM 4 Launchers with two tons of ammunition. A single Double Heat sink is added to help migrate the Mech's heat loads. BV(2.0)=1,913[6]
