The DCS Blue Lotus was a Naga-class light destroyer in service with the Draconis Combine Admiralty during the First Succession War. The Blue Lotus had the misfortune of being the only WarShip assigned to the defense of Luthien, the capital of the Draconis Combine, in March 2787 when the Lyran Commonwealth launched a humiliating retaliatory raid against the Combine.[1]
Assigned to the raid on Luthien was the elite Tamar Tigers regiment, escorted by the LCS Nightwind, a Potemkin-class cruiser. Anticipating heavy defenses at Luthien, the Nightwind carried a full complement of twenty-five assorted assault DropShips and fighter carriers; although a partially-complete Narukami II-class destroyer under construction in the orbital dry docks above Luthien attempted to assist the Blue Lotus, both ships were swiftly destroyed. The Nightwind went on to destroy the orbital shipyards, whilst the Tamar Tigers dropped on the lightly-defended Aichi continent and destroyed three factories - including a Luthien Armor Works BattleMech factory - before leaving the Luthien system.
