Just Another Day is a short story by Christoffer Trossen that was published as part of the Classic BattleTech Companion
Plot summary[edit]
Sergeant Rick Ellis is a mercenary from a unit which is a recovery and tech-scavengers one.
Working for Wolf's Dragoons in the Chaos March, he is driving a hovercraft and escaping from a Toyama an Exterminator and two Spectors with battle armor support. After escaping, in his unit briefing he gets confirmation he was attacked by the Word of Blake.
Next day, working with a Gunslinger and an Apollo with Major Bill Travis, the team's liaison trying to retrieve a crypto module, which they retrieve and then return to base in three hovercraft.
After deciphering it they locate Colonel Anton Rand, commanding officer of Wolf's Dragoons' Beta Regiment and MIA for two days and captured by Blakists. Lieutenant Colonel James Gavin organizes an extraction with the unit's Second Battalion as a decoy for a few choppers bringing an assault team to place to liberate the Colonel.
