Description
The Lament is a Heavy Class BattleMech originally created for the Armed Forces of the Republic of the Sphere in late 3120s. Designed by Skobel MechWorks of Terra, the company created the design as new hard-hitting attack 'Mech for the regiments of the Stone's Brigade. Its blend of firepower and armor has had individuals comparing the 'Mech with past designs such as the Warhammer and the heavier Awesome Assault 'Mech.[4]
Weapons and Equipment
The design features blend of firepower, speed, and balance of armor protection. The heart of the 'Mech, is its 325-rated VOX Extra-Light Fusion Engine, with enough Double Heat Sinks fire both its main guns with some heat left over. In addition to 15 Double Heat Sinks, engineers would include an advanced tech Radical Heat Sink System allow flushing excess heat from the 'Mech system. The 'Mech's hull is protected by 12.5 tons of Krupp 205 Light Ferro-Fibrous, giving it enough armor handle incoming fire as its pilot focus their efforts in destroying an opponent. To fit in additional equipment, the 'Mech features a XL Gyro.
To achieve this 'Mech's principle focus in destroying its enemies, its engineers weapons straight forward and to the point. The design's main guns come in the form of a pair of Magna Supernova Heavy Particle Projection Cannons, one per arm. Backing up main guns are three Diverse Optics Sunfire Extended Medium Lasers in each of the side torso and in the head.[5][6]
Variants
- LMT-3C
- A variant with firepower on par with the ancient Awesome, the 'Mech comes with three Extended Range Particle Projection Cannons, mounted in each arm and left torso. While retaining the Radical Heatsink System, the 'Mech loses its secondary weapons and receives a single Small X-Pulse Laser in the right torso. A C3 Slave unit is fitted in the head to allow coordinate its firepower with other C3 lance mates. BV(2.0)=1,874[7][8]
- LMT-4RC
- Based on the LMT-3C, this version of the 'Mech uses a mix of Clan Weaponry and Equipment. The 4RC has four Clan-produced Improved Heavy Large Lasers in place of three ER PPCs. The 'Mechs Inner Sphere Double Heat Sinks are exchanged for twenty one Clan Double Heat Sinks, while retaining the 3C's C3 Slave Unit and Radical Heatsink System. BV(2.0)=2,474[11][12]

Notes
As of this writing, the Master Unit List does not list the Lament or any of its alternate configurations. The article for the Lament mentions there were several other variants. However, again as of this writing only three have been featured with the base model been given canon record sheets.
