The Republic Armed Forces was the military branch of the Republic of the Sphere. After the dissolution of the Republic of the Sphere following the Battle of Terra, many remaining personnel were taken as bondsmen and assets would end up being absorbed into Clan Wolf in preparation for the ilClan Trial. Reactivated RAF personnel would later end up becoming the core of the Third Star League Defense Force's Regular Army.[citation needed]

[edit]
At it's inception the Republic Fleet's assets are nominally tightly integrated with army ground forces. However, the fleet's higher organizational levels maintain separate and distinctive ranks and formations. The are divided into two distinctive formations, the WarShip Command and the Border Fleet. At the Republic inception, would in gain control of former Coalition's three Warships and choose not grow Command's number beyond them in order to fend of escalating arms race. Each Warship with it's supporting JumpShip & DropShip assets would rotate between the Prefecture capitals.[3][4]
Representing bulk of the Navy is it's Border Fleet. The Border Fleet is broken up into ten Sub-Fleets, which are divided among the Prefectures which patrol the borders of the Republic. These fleets are generally consist of JumpShips and various Dropships, including Pocket WarShips. Many of these designs would comes from former Word of Blake designs repurposed for the Republic's Navy. At it's inception, the Border Fleets were not well funded and often seen as least ideal military assignment[3]
WarShip Command
- Aegis-class heavy cruiser, RAF Auspicium (formerly NCS Blade)[3][4]
- Essex-class destroyer, RAF Abundantia (formerly WBS Divine Forgiveness)[3][4]
- Lola III-class destroyer, RAF Triumphus (formerly NCS Hunter)[3][4]

Uniforms[edit]
RAF Uniforms[edit]
- Duty - consisted of a short, high-collared, royal blue tunic with dark trousers. A service cap or beret may be worn with the uniform. Stripes on the tunics cuff indicate which brigade the soldier belongs to with a color that matches the type of dress uniform. Four represented MechWarriors, three represented armor crews, two for infantry, and one for support roles.[6]
- Field - the same as the duty uniform, but with a light gray tunic instead of blue.[6]
- Dress - a shirt and trousers, worn over a short coat. The color of the coat depends on the member's unit. The Hastati Sentinels wore black, Principes Guards wore dark gray, Triarii Protectors wore blue-gray and the Republic Navy wore dark blue. All wore black trousers with white piping down the side.[6]
The Republic Standing Guard allowed some alteration to their uniforms, giving a sense of uniqueness on their world or specialness, though most wore a green tunic with khaki trousers. One example of this change was the Northwind Standing Guard, who added a kilt and Clan tartan due to their roots of hailing from ancient Scotland.[6]
Knight of the Republic Uniforms[edit]
- Field - a light gray tunic with dark trousers having scarlet and gold piping down the legs. The Knight’s full name was monogrammed over the left breast.[6]
- Service - was a white tunic with gold braiding at the shoulders with dark trousers and piping down the legs.
- Formal - contained a steel gray tunic and trousers with scarlet and gold piping down the legs and a gold shield on each arm.
Full Knights wore a cape of rank, short and gray in the field, and knee-length in scarlet and gold in formal attire.[6]
Paladin Uniform[edit]
The Paladins merged aspects from various knight uniforms. They were also allowed to design the cuffs in gold threads, based on their ethnic background, homeworld, or philosophical leanings. A floor length scarlet and gold cape completed the uniform.[6]
