Mason Dunne, (Born 3101) was 32nd Century Senator & Viscount of Markab (3135-), formerly Ghost Knight of The Republic of Sphere. Originally Victor Steiner-Davion recruit him, engineer his education, and guided him into his role as Ghost Knight.[1].

He true identity only known by very few knights & paladins in Republic. He changes identies to suit his mission(s). Dunne publicly known as a researcher in obscure forestry office in the Interior Secretariat.[2] Knight & Countess Consuela Dagmar immediate supervisor as a Ghost Knight and Victor Steiner-Davion acts as his mentor.

He in relationship with Knight Lady Jance Lakewood.

Notable Actions

August 3132, Mason was uncover mission arriving on Republic world of Helen as drifter by the name of Sam Donelly. He became a industrial mech pilot for ARU logging company. He discovered and penetrated terrorist group known as CGF in November of that year. In course of actions be encounter gentleman named Mr. Handy whom which was created the CGF and had Mason's cell attack local authorities and betrayed them. Mason was captured after fighting an Centurion battlemech with his terror cell's militarized ConstructionMech.

Lady Lakewood arrested Sam and brought Terra. There he learn extent of unrest the Inner Sphere was in, with majority of the HPG communication grids down. Resulting in splitter groups being created such as Katana Tormark's Dragon's Fury & power grabbing by CEO Jacob Bannson.

He is notified that Mr. Handy also known as Gypsy, was attempting to recruit him as mechwarrior on Republic world of Basalt. Its believed that Bannson is behind Mr. Handy/Gypsy's activities.

On January 3133, he arrives on Basalt and meets with Gypsy. He recruited in mercenary unit that been hired help over throw the government. Gypsy had gathered large battalion size military force with mixed group of disfranchised exmilitary personnel as well mercenaries. Dune as Sam convinces his employer not go by conventional conflict but use LIT (Low-Intensity Terrorism) instead. Mason citing that population maybe easier swayed verse in going along with goverment change if they do not persue a normal military conquest.

Mason discovers after mixing up with both Gypsy's group and locals that this conflict was engineered by nobility's son Bernard Germayne. Manson is able to get terrorist unit split in half.

In March, Mason with assistance of Lady Lake wood & Public Safety Officer Niemeyer, to trick Germayne to bring forces to obsure old prison known as Obsidian Island. Where Basalt Militia waited in the Fortress like prison for two groups to attack. Battle breaks out militia and mercenary forces.

This is where Mason & Lady Lakewood arrives in their battlemechs to tips the balance of battle to the Militia and convences one of mercenary groups that it be in their best interest to join Knight of the Sphere. Both faction of the mecenary unit & militia attack Germayne's forces ultimately leading to his defeat.

Mason allows his persona of "Sam Donelly" to die and so he continue on his missions for the Republic.

Notes

Mason Dunne piloted a Mad Cat III. He had named clan medium mech Ghost, after Victor Steiner-Davion's old 10th Lyran Guard RCT nicknamed the Revenants. Revenants are type of ghosts. He used Ghost in combat mission to stop up rising on Basalt in March, 3133.
