Pirates War

The Pirates War refers to a period between 3057-3058 wherein the Marian Hegemony and the Sixth of June faction of the Word of Blake waged an undeclared war against the Magistracy of Canopus using troops disguised as pirates.

Background

Following the formation of the Word of Blake and their relocation to the Free Worlds League, various factions were formed with differing visions and philosophies. One such faction was the Sixth of June movement led by Precentor Demona Aziz. As the Word of Blake began to compete with Comstar for influence and HPG control, the WoB factions began competing with each other over the same.

As most of the Word of Blake focused on retaking Terra and the control of Inner Sphere HPGs, the Sixth of June concentrated on the Periphery. By offering various inducements such as money or military equipment, they controlled the HPGs of both the Marian Hegemony and Magistracy of Canopus by 3057. Unlike the Hegemony, however, the Magistracy still had Comstar representatives that could takeover if the price was right. With Precentor Demona Aziz seeking undisputed control of Magistracy HPGs and Ceasar Sean O'Reilly dreaming conquest, the Pirates War was planned to achieve both. It's primary objective is to weaken the Magistrix's political power and destabilize several planets in preparation for invasion. WoB would then act as mediator and gain complete HPG control.

Simultaneously occurring in the rest of the Inner Sphere, Operation Guerrero has created the Chaos March and a Capellan Chancellor in need of troops to finish retaking it. With few options available, Chancellor Sun Tzu Liao began to look at the Periphery for the added support...

Known Military and Political Actions

  • The planetary governors of Gambilon, Palladix and Marantha were assassinated in early 3058. Their near simultaneous loss caused widespread panic and rioting on various worlds.
  • In May 3058, the mercenary Avanti's Angels was immediately attacked on arrival in Marantha. Hired to take the war to the enemy, it was their mission to locate the supply depot and destroy it.
