Planetary History

Primus was the site of the first military operation of the Andurien Secession in September 3030. One battalion of the Tooth of Ymir mercenary unit invaded this agrarian world, defeated the local militia and quickly seized control of the main population centers. However, a small resistance movement arose in the rural areas of the world against the "Davion Occupation." The local citizens believed the invasion was the continuation of House Davion's advances in the Fourth Succession War. Militarily, the resistance could do little to oppose the Ymir regiment so resorted to harassing the Andurien war effort with attacks on supply shipments, sniper attacks and muggings of Ymir personnel. These attacks were few however as most of the resistance focused on punishing those individuals who assisted the conquerors.

In June of 3032, the CCAF sent two regiments, the 1st McCarron's Armored Cavalry and the 3rd McCarron's Armored Cavalry, to liberate the world. No major Andurien or Canopian forces were on world and the only major loss of life in the operation was due to an accident. One of the Union class dropships of the 1st regiment, the Nightriders, suffered a drive failure during its landing with the loss of 60 souls. This would be the largest loss of life for the unit during the entire war.
