Fitzpatrick made an escape soon after and discovered a Kuritan forward air base and stole a Shilone fighter. He then destroyed the base and fled back to Lyran lines. In 3014 he joined the Kell Hounds, where the other members of the aerospace battalion resented him for being assigned command of the battalion, viewing it as favoritism by the Kells.
