The Third Scorpion Cuirassiers were permanently stationed inside the Temple of the Nine Muses on Roche.[1][2] They were known for their frenzied defense of Roche. Warriors assigned to this Cluster were also trained in physical attacks, which is unusual in Clan toumans.[1]
Warriors who attempted to join the unit were forced to recite a passage of Goliath Scorpion Remembrance from memory. This passage was chosen by Loremaster Moreau at random.[3]
In 2834 the Third joined forces with the Eleventh Wolf Guards to face the First Spinner Cluster of Clan Widowmaker on Roche.[4] The Wolf Guards were pinned down in a valley, and may have been destroyed altogether but Loremaster Moreau led his troops into combat with the Widowmakers and helped the Wolves destroy the Widowmakers.[5]

The Third Cuirassiers fought off the Coyote air units while the rest of the Galaxy pursued the retreating ground forces.
