History & Description[edit]

The Anjin Muerto Operational Area - also known as the Periphery March Spinward Combat Theater - was an administrative military district within the Federated Suns. Administered from Anjin Muerto, the Operational Area was established in the aftermath of the Jihad by Princess-Regent Yvonne Steiner-Davion as a result of the creation of the Periphery March,[1] and was composed of the Anjin Muerto Combat Region and the Hortense Combat Region.[2] As an Operational Area the Anjin Muerto Operational Area had command authority over a number of smaller regional commands commonly known as Polymorphous Defense Zones or Combat Regions, although during the era of the Federated Commonwealth the PDZs were simply known as Commands.[3][4][5][6]

Prior to the establishment of the Anjin Muerto Operational Area, the region had formed one half of the Minette Operational Area of the Crucis March,[7][8][9] and between the establishment of the five Marches by First Prince Simon Davion in March 2418[10] and the restructuring of the Marches in the aftermath of the Davion Civil War by First Prince Alexander Davion[11] the region likely formed a part of the Outer March.

The borders of the Anjin Muerto OA remained largely unchanged during the Dark Age, save for the incorporation of worlds that chose to leave the Filtvelt Coalition and rejoin the Federated Suns.[12][13]
