Description
The Black Wolf is a 32nd Century, Heavy Class Battle Armor which was originally created by Clan Scientists from both halves of the divided Wolf Clan. The Battle Armor began as a joint project between Clan Wolf and Clan Wolf-in-Exile, as part of a means of reunification between two sundered factions. However, reunification the Black Wolf suggested would not come to pass with formation of the Wolf Empire in 3142. One of the Black Hawk's deployments would be during the invasion of Tharkad in 3143, where suit uses would turned into symbol of terror for WiE's allies in the Lyran Commonwealth.[3]
Armament and Capabilities
The Armor is slow, but mobile. This is able to jump as far as it can trot to closest enemy under its own power. With its Heavy Battle Claw, the Armor is able be transported to frontlines by OmniMech is needed. The suit is protected by 385 kg of Reactive Armor, giving its heavy resistance to explosive weaponry such as artillery and missile fire.
The Black Hawk operators are able to switch out whatever weapons and equipment is needed for any given mission due to its left arm mounted Module Weapon Mount. Its weapons range from Inner Sphere built Heavy Mortar, Extended-Range Small Pulse Laser, Battle Armor-scale LB-X Autocannon, Heavy Flamer, and Man-Portable Plasma Rifle.[4]
Notes
With Clan Wolf's move to Lyran/Free Worlds League space, so has the Black Wolf's manufacturing site to Stewart. While the WiE's manufacturing site continues produce the suit in their Site 2 factory on Arc-Royal. It unknown what became of the Black Hawk's W-7 factory on Weingarten.[5]
The Black Wolf was original conceived by Wizkids' MechWarrior Dark Age Collectable Miniatures game as a part of its Battleforce expansion set. The figure for the Black Wolf Battle Armor would only be used with mercenary faction. The Battle Armor would later adapted by Catalyst Game Labs and redefined in the tabletop game once the company advanced the franchise's timeline to 3145.
