History[edit]

Nu Galaxy was raised as a garrison Galaxy toward the end of the twenty-ninth century. Initially contained four Clusters of the Clan's older warriors, although it was not considered a solahma unit. Khan Kevin McTighe intended Nu to be a home for seasoned veterans to continue to serve with honor, a move which worked so well that it served as the model for other Coyote second-line Galaxies.[1]

After performing well for the first part of its existence, Nu began to experience setbacks in the early thirty-first century, being forced off Marshall and Hoard. These actions reduced Nu to under sixty percent strength. Nu relocated to New Kent along with Xi Galaxy, a similarly damaged Coyote second-line Galaxy. In 3056, Khan Sullivan Koga's reforms reached Nu and Xi, with Xi being decommissioned and Nu gaining some of the defunct Galaxy's members.[1]

A combined Clan Goliath Scorpion and Kindraa Mattila-Carrol assault on Glory in December 3071 quickly overwhelmed the 120th Strike Cluster, which fell into chaos when Star Colonel Harm Tchernovkov was killed early in the fighting. Star Captain Blaise was forced to surrender what was left of the cluster at the end of the day, and the Coyote holdings were divided between the two Clans.[2]

Clan Coyote's collusion with the Society caste revolts and its bandit actions was punished by the Grand Council. Each Coyote warrior that could not be positively identified as collaborating with the Society had to fight a personal Trial of Refusal, with the odds set by the Council. These Trials of Cleansing were conducted in mid-3075 and included the warriors of Nu Galaxy.[3]

In 3083 Nu Galaxy was bid against Clan Blood Spirit in an attempt to capture several holdings on Haven and managed to capture the city of Glasgow as well as three BattleMech factories. The Galaxy repulsed the Spirit counterattack, but on seeing the Spirits had armed civilians the Coyotes began to slaughter any that they saw armed.[4]
