After the IlClan Trial, Clan Wolf became the IlClan, but Khan Alaric Wards taking almost all the available warriors to Terra left the Wolf Empire totally defenseless. However, it has a remaining high officer: Star Colonel Othar. He, acting by his own initiative, took the control of all the Empire's resources and began creating two new Galaxies: Lupus Galaxy and Rufus Galaxy, paired so a Rufus Cluster garrisoned a key planet and a Lupus one assisted them when they were under attack.[1]
Each Galaxy had to had, at most, five Clusters, and the 103rd Wolf Garrison Cluster was one of those. On 3152, they were defending the planet Tongatapu, when it was attacked.[2]
The invaders, the Free Worlds League Task Force Accord, was under the leadership of Major Makeda Kay and was formed by the units of the Third Free Worlds Guards and Fourth Regulan Hussars, landed the 22 February, approaching, respectively, the planetary capital of Nuku'alofa and a key facility of Technicron. The 103rd accosted the invaders' landing zone near Lake Kanatea, engaging them into hit-and-run attacks, refusing to stand and fight. They were awaiting for something, ostensibly the arrival of their Lupus galaxy counterpart... but when reinforcements failed to arrive, and both invaders units' despite being rivals, coordinated themselves and shattered the defenders. The Cluster commander had to retreat deeper into the Empire territory to save what remained of the unit, the 11 March.[3]
