Overview
The 889th Jump Infantry Regiment was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.
History
In 2764, the unit was assigned, as a part of the 17th Jump Infantry Division, XXI Corps, First Army, to the Terran Military Region and transferred to District 1 of the Capellan Confederation Military Region by 2765.[1]
The 889th spearheaded an attack against the Amaris-held planet of Epsilon Eridani. Their mission was to rescue trapped Star League troops hiding out in the mountains of the southern continent. The stranded troops were in reality a trap set by Amaris loyalists and the 889th was destroyed as they attempted the rescue. A few survivors of the Hegemony Campaign followed General Aleksandr Kerensky on the Exodus in 2784.[1][2]
