Rho Galaxy was a military formation in service to Clan Steel Viper. They were assigned to guard the rimward worlds of the Viper Occupation Zone, with a special emphasis on the Clan Hall on Jabuka. They didn't serve as an assault force, but were frequently used as an opposing force for Alpha Galaxy exercises. With this in mind, they were one of the best-equipped and best-trained second-line Galaxies in the Viper touman.[1]
During the Viper ejection from the Inner Sphere, Rho Galaxy performed well against forces from Clan Wolf, Clan Jade Falcon, and the Lyran Alliance. Their performance led several Viper commanders to suggest that they be promoted to front-line Galaxy status, but the large number of warriors who were test-downs and old prevented that from happening.[2]
Rho Galaxy deployed the Fourth Fang, the Fifth Legion and the 141st Phalanx to Eden to engage the Clan Wolf garrison during their Abjuration in 3071. The Viper Clusters had surrounded the Wolf enclave when a surprise attack against their rear by the Coyote Twenty-seventh Strike Cluster was followed by the Wolves striking. Tactics[edit]
As the main training partner for Alpha Galaxy, Rho Galaxy was highly skilled in defensive tactics. They were also adept at the use of Inner Sphere tactics in order to give Alpha Galaxy the training it needed.[1]
