Riss was a old solahma warrior of the Clan Jade Falcons and a fanatical follower of Malvina Hazen.

History[edit]

Riss was a Trueborn of Clan Jade Falcon and had served touman and due to his advanced age was left behind. Riss was fanatical follower of Hazen's Mongol Doctrine. Reaching the rank of Star Colonel, Riss never won a Bloodname. In 3150, when Malvina Hazen took the majority of her touman to Terra, however Riss stayed behind to secure Arc-Royal.

Sometime in 3151, Riss had received news of Hazen's defeat and his Clan's annihilation in the IlClan Trial on Terra. Riss hid the outcome from his forces on Arc-Royal, pretending than she was alive. Riss developed a plan to win the favor of the new IlKhan, Alaric Ward. However this was thwarted when Callandre Kell and her Kell Hounds arrived in system and despite being in reduced numbers, began taking the falcon's positions systematically.[1]

The Battle of Arc-Royal (3151) quickly turning against the Falcons. Riss ordered all surviving Jade Falcon garrison forces to move to the capital, Old Connaught. Expecting to force Kell to leave the planet, Riss ordered mass executions of 1,000 civilians a day from the city. This only enraged the Hounds. The next day the Kell Hounds attacked Old Connaught with all what they had.[2]

Callandre crashed a Broadsword class DropShip to cripple the core of the Falcon's defensive line and led the charge against the survivors. Callandre not only faced off against the Jade Falcon warriors on the battlefield but also broadcasted to Riss' forces than Malvina Hazen was dead, Clan Wolf was the IlClan, and than the Flacons had been annihilated on Terra. A furious Riss engaged Callendre which his Hunchback IIC, insulting her, and attempting to minimize the damage. To no avail: the bulk of the Jade Falcon forces ceased fighting. Despite being outnumbered and better weaponry, the Callandere's tank was able to avoid Riss' fire, and disabled his 'Mech. Riss being wounded, and his 'Mech crippled, refused to surrender. Riss was attempting to descend from his 'Mech when Callandre ordered an artillery strike on Riss' position. Two missiles destroyed his 'Mech and incinerated him.

Riss' death put an end to the battle and the rest of the Jade Falcons conceded defeat, abandoning Arc-Royal, leaving it in Callandre's and the Kell Hounds possession.[3]

BattleMech[edit]

Riss' last 'Mech, and maybe also the original, was a Hunchback IIC.[4]
