History[edit]
Shane Govender was the son of high-ranking employees of Vandenberg Mechanized Industries, which led to him receiving an education equal to that of a nobleman. Even with these advantages, he shone only in the area of marksmanship, making a good showing in the Concordat Games in 3003. [1]
Facing an ultimatum from his parents, Govender declined to join the company, instead looting the family savings and fleeing the planet. He turned to a life of alternating criminal activity and mercenary service, adopting the moniker "One Shot". His body bears the scars of his career, with facial scarring and a large scar on his torso from a laser wound.[1]
Finally he was caught by the Aurigan Directorate and sent to the "Icebox", on Weldry. When forces loyal to Kamea Arano liberated Weldry, Govender signed on with a mercenary unit in her employ, and later transferred to Rampart Company.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
"Norwest" is a CPLT-K2 Catapult that Govender stole from a private armory. The owners are still hunting it--and him.[1]
