Description
Named for the Egyptian symbol of goddess of Wadjet, the Uraeus is a Heavy Class BattleMech that first appeared in 3140s. Produced in secret by NETC of New Earth for a splinter group operating within ComStar. The Uraeus first appeared in combat in ranks of resurrected 1st Division of Com Guard on Luyten 68-28 against elements of the Republic of the Sphere. After destruction of Com Guard on Epsilon Eridani, the Uraeus was adopted by the Republic to rebuilt its tattered ranks since the fall of Gray Monday in 3132.[3][4]
Armament and Equipment
Designed to be on the frontlines and to be close-in fighter. The Uraeus is constructed to be durable machine, using the NETC Endo-Steel and 300-rated Vlar Fusion Engine. The Uraeus utilizes 13 tons of Wall Type 8 Light Ferro-Fibrous armor to handle the rigors of close-in fighting. Not the fastest among is pears, the Uraeus strength and speed is augmented by Triple Strength Myomer, giving it the edge once it meets an opponent head on.
The 'Mech main weapons comes in the form of a Class 10 Ultra Autocannon and a Bombast Laser which is mounted on a BattleMech Shoulder Turret on left torso. The turret is armored to allow the powerful laser array to fire 360 degrees and resist battle damage. When the 'Mech closes in to meet an opponent toe to toe, the 'Mech can rely on its 4-tubed Streak Short-Ranged Missile Launcher and its Medium Vibroblade. The Mech's 3 tons of autocannon and missile ammunition are placed in the right torso with benefits of CASE II protecting the design from ammo explosions.[5][6]

As of this writing, the Master Unit List does not list the Uraeus.
Not mentioned in the TRO profile of the Uraeus and its smaller cousin, Kheper, is its resemblance to Heavy OmniMechs of the Word of Blake Celestial series. The Uraeus appearance is not unlike the Grigori and Deva designs. However, there no mention of it borrowing from what would be considered to be a taboo designs.
