Description

The Wusun medium OmniFighter is a post-Jihad design, built for Clan Snow Raven by its partners in the Outworlds Alliance. The Wusun came into existence due in part of President Camden Avellar, the head of the Alliance government. Through the middle of the Jihad, he would try to convince the Ravens that United Outworlders Corporation was trustworthy enough to handle their technology, both sides would benefit. By 3076, the Raven Council finally agreed to allow United Outworlders to build their fighter under strict guidelines. By 3085, the first of the fighters began to roll out of UOC's new factory on Ramora.

The Wusun is most often configured as a close-in interceptor, with 11.5 tons of ferro-aluminum armor to protect it. Its extralight fusion engine allows the craft to reach a maximum speed of 12. Thanks to the weight saved by the engine and armor, the fighter has 24 tons of pod space available to handle any weapons and equipment loads.

Weapons and Equipment

The Wusun's primary configuration is geared towards fighting an enemy in short and medium ranges. The nose pods have three ER medium lasers fitted, while each of the wings has a pair of Streak SRM-6 with two tons of ammunition for each pair. To help with laser weaponry's accuracy, a targeting computer has been added. Four additional double heat sinks have been added to the base amount in the fighter chassis.

Alternate Configurations

• Alternate Configuration A 

  This configuration is outfitted with a pair of LRM-15 launchers enhanced with Artemis IV FCS located in each wing, fed by two tons of ammo. In the nose the Wusun A has three medium pulse lasers with a targeting computer guiding them. BV(2.0)=2,369, 2,372

• Alternate Configuration B 

  A single weapon configuration, the Wusun B has a HAG 40 mounted in its nose pod with four tons of ammunition. Also included is a targeting computer and three additional double heat sinks. BV(2.0)=2,450, 2,453

• Alternate Configuration C 

  An all energy loadout, this configuration features an ER large laser in the nose while three heavy medium lasers are located in each of its wing pods. The heat and inaccuracy problems caused by the weapons are remedied by installation of 11 double heat sinks and a targeting computer. BV(2.0)=2,365, 2,368

• Alternate Configuration D 

  This configuration, developed in 3121, carries a Gauss rifle and improved heavy large laser in the nose, both of which are tied into a targeting computer. The Wusun D also carries an ECM suite to disrupt enemy electronics. BV (2.0) = 2,362
