The Regis Roost system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as of 3145, is an independent system located close to the Periphery borders of the Fronc Reaches, Taurian Concordat, and the Victoria Commonality of the Capellan Confederation.[2][3]

Although it (apocryphally) appears in the BattleTech computer game by HBS and is also mentioned in House Arano (The Aurigan Coalition), official errata have clarified that canonically, Regis Roost wasn't a known or settled system until the 3040s; see Notes below.

System Description[edit]

Regis Roost is located near the Katinka and Qalzi systems.[4][5]

System History[edit]

The Regis Roost system was either settled by the Taurian Concordat at some point after the end of the Fourth Succession War or was an inhabited system that became significant enough during this period for Inner Sphere nations to begin recording its location on maps.[6][7][8][9]

According to its description in the HBS computer game (where it only appeared due to an oversight; see Notes below), the world is filled with fungal life in an array of forms: fungal "plants," "fish," and even "animals." Because of this, the air is thick with spores, and visitors are prone to an unpleasant illness known as "Spore-lung."[42]

Notes[edit]

  • The tensions between the Taurian Concordat and the Aurigan Coalition that precipitated the Aurigan Directorate coup and the Arano Restoration were reportedly sparked by Aurigan overtures to four former (but long-since abandoned) Taurian holdings. The four systems in question are named in House Arano (The Aurigan Coalition) as Aea, Regis Roost, Qalzi, and Katinka;[43] however, official errata have since clarified that, canonically, the Regis Roost system was undiscovered at the time and mentioned in error. Given its location on the map relative to the other three systems and that it used to be a Taurian system but was mapped as an Aurigan system as of 3022,[44] it seems likely that Artru was the fourth system instead of Regis Roost.
