Planetary Info[edit]

Son Hoa has an interesting geographical feature: The Vanishing Sea. During the blistering summers, all the water in the sea evaporates. Once the seasons turn, the water condenses out of the atmosphere and returns to the seabed.[1]

Planetary History[edit]

Star League Era[edit]

In 2765 the Thirty-fifth Lyran Guards were garrisoning Son Hoa, protecting the expanding StarCorps Industries facilities there;[30] StarCorps was one of the few Terran Hegemony defense industries to have made any inroads into the Lyran markets during the Star League era.[31]

The Jihad[edit]

In April 3074 the Word of Blake attacked the StarCorps Industries main complex on Son Hoa while the StarCorps Board of Directors was meeting in the facility. The attack was brutal and comprehensive; the site was attacked with chemical weapons, killing those present, and then subjected to repeated attack and bombing runs by aerospace fighters and DropShips. The attack caused considerable damage to the interstellar company and forced it to activate various contingency plans to try and compensate.[32] The StarCorp Industries facility on Loburg was fortunate enough to escape the Jihad intact, despite the widespread devastation inflicted on the Lyran Alliance's industrial base by the Word of Blake. With the StarCorps Industries facilities on Son Hoa having suffered serious damage, there was considerable discussion in early 3081 regarding proposals to relocate the surviving production onto Loburg, which was perceived as being better defended.[33]

Dark Age[edit]

At some time between 3101 and 3104 Son Hoa achieved independence. In recognition of this, StarCorps looked to expand its product range with the Hermit Crab.[34][35]
