Assigned to the Rigil Kentarus Theater, 10 to 11 on the Inner Sphere Clock, the ComGuard 10th Army took a battering against Clan Wolf during the Battle of Tukayyid before serving along side Clan Wolf-in-Exile in the Arc-Royal Defense Cordon, calling themselves The Red Legion.

History

Selected along with the Ninth Army to face the Wolves, the Tenth Army was primarily assigned to the defense of the target city of Skupo, suffering heavy losses in the bitter fighting as the Natasha Kerensky-led troops pushed the Com Guard forces out. [1]

Save for the 208th's disastrous involvement in Operation Bulldog, since Tukayyid the Tenth found itself increasingly dragged into the internal problems of the newly formed Lyran Alliance, with two of Army's divisions working with Lyran Loyalist forces and the others as adjuncts to the Arc-Royal Defense Cordon. The elevation of Victor Steiner-Davion to the position of Precentor Martial worsened the Army's situation, [2] and when the FedCom Civil War erupted, Precentor Gavin Dow took steps to ensure the loyalty of the Tenth to ComStar.[3]

For the most part this saved the Tenth Army from being caught up in the fighting, however Precentor Dag Kesselring's staunchly Lyran 66th Division paid the price for their choice and were annihilated in Peter Steiner-Davion's assault on Tharkad. [3]

After the beginning of the Jihad the ComGuard Armies were stretched too thin. To counteract this, the 7th-12th Armies were disbanded and used to reinforce the 1st-6th Armies. This gave each of the newly-reinforced Armies a full six Divisions. The 10th Army was one of the formations affected.[4]

Officers

As of 3050, the Tenth Army was under the command of Precentor V Boris Myrvang.[5]

As of 3067, the 10th Army was under the command of Precentor XI Cynthia Byrd, who took command of the Army after Tukayyid. Not a fan of Victor Steiner-Davion, Byrd's grudging acceptance of him was based on entirely upon her respect for Anastasius Focht's judgement.[6][2][3]
