First Succession War[edit]

The Third New Avalon Military Academy Training Battalion or Third NAMA was one of three regiments of troops mustered from the cadet classes of the New Avalon Military Academy during the First Succession War. Formed at some point after 2786, the Third saw combat on at least one world during the War.[1]

Fourth Succession War[edit]

The Third NAIS Cadet Cadre is equipped with heavy and assault 'Mechs, making it one of the most potent training units in the AFFS.

Defense of Ingress[edit]

The Thrid NAIS Cadet Cadre was stationed on Ingress in 3049 for training maneuvers when the world was attacked by the 9th Sun Zhang Academy Cadre who were on a 'training mission'. The Combine forces were driven off world, but both sides sustained equivalent losses.[4]

Clan Invasion[edit]

In 3054, the Third dropped onto a world held by Clan Steel Viper. Unfortunately the drop was botched and the entire unit would have been destroyed if General Post hadn't extracted the unit.[5]

Operation Guerrero[edit]

They fought on Oliver in 3057 during Operation Guerrero.[6]

FedCom Civil War[edit]

Shortly after the end of the Xin Sheng Campaign the Third assisted in cleanup operations on Alcyone. They then returned to their homeworld, Lee.[7] During the FedCom Civil War the Third Cadre didn't see much action. They were transferred from Lee to Algol to let the 12th Vegan Rangers out into the fray. The move was a response to CCAF actions.[8]

In 3078 Princess-Regent Yvonne Steiner-Davion signed the Academy Appropriations War Powers Act. This act conscripted the surviving members of the Training Cadre into the AFFS. As a result, the Third Cadre was disbanded in 3078 and integrated into the Davion Brigade of Guards. The future of the Cadre is unknown, but if reconstituted it will likely follow the LCT model.[9]
