With their successful defense of the Luk during the Battle of Tukayyid and efforts during Operation Bulldog, the 91st Division is one of the most elite rated units in the Com Guards.

History

With the public unveiling of the Com Guard, the veteran ranked 91st Division, referred to by the nickname of Visions of Words, was assigned to the First Army, and was headquartered on the Draconis Combine world of Pesht.[1]

During the Battle of Tukayyid, the First Army was tasked with defeating Clan Ghost Bear. Along with the 12th Division, the Ninth-First trapped Delta Galaxy's 20th Polar Bear Attack Cluster in the outskirts of the Holth forest, inflicting heavy losses and turning the tide in Bears' push for Luk.

Unfortunately as the Ninety-First fell back to assist the 103rd Division in the defense of Spananc, they arrived on the city outskirts barely ahead of the OmniMechs of the Ghost Bears' Alpha Galaxy. Unable to establish a proper defense, the arrival of Beta and Delta Galaxies allowed the Clan forces to overrun the Ninety-First and capture most of its supply caches intact, forcing Precentor Martial Focht to order the Hundred and Third to withdraw, ceding the target city to the Ghost Bears. [2] [3] [4]

In an effort to tie-up the forces in Spananc, under massed artillery fire from the Fourth Army, the Ninety-First joined the Twelfth Division in raiding the outskirts in an unsuccessful attempt to take the city back prior to the declaration of the Ghost Bears draw. [3] [5]

Choosing the nickname of the The Luk-y 91st after their efforts on Tukayyid, the now elite ranked Ninety-First remained with the First Army, moving their headquarters to Dieron.[6] In an effort to maintain their edge, the Ninety-First carried out numerous exercises against its own battalions and against other local ComStar and DCMS units. [7]

Stationed on Wolcott at the start of Operation Bulldog in 3059, the 91st formed part of Victor Steiner-Davion's "Dream Team" to capture the important target of Schuyler[8]. Suffering only light losses, elements of the unit traveled to Huntress as part of the relief force to save Task Force Serpent, with two warriors from the Ninety-First selected to fight as part of ComStar's contribution in the Great Refusal. [9]

Fully recovered from losses of Bulldog by 3067, the Ninety-First returned to staging exercises, primarily against the SLDF's Eridani Light Horse, but has requested being posted away from the heavily defended Dieron Military District capital. [7]

Officers

Prior to the Clan Invasion, the Ninety-First was commanded by Precentor Dann Brockton.

As of 3055 to 3062, the unit-CO was Precentor Rachal Drake, who held the position since after the Battle of Tukayyid.[6]

As of 3067 the unit-CO was Precentor Elissa Myung, replaced Drake after her promotion to commander of the First Army.
