Character History

Early Years

Beresick was born in the Draconis Combine, had a early infatuation with Space. He enlisted with ComStar so he could pursue his dream of a naval career. He pursued his training and became Adept I Theta Berewick was assigned to a JumpShip.[3] Along his early career he meet the slightly older Gregory Zwick who shared his passion with all things naval. Berewick introduced his friend to his cousin, Melissa, whom soon developed a relationship and eventually marriage.[4]

He work his way up the later and became Captain of the JumpShip Direct Communication in 3047. He and Zwick remained serving together during these years, also developing new ideas to conduct black space naval combat. Years later, Zwick became commanding officer of Deep Periphery patrolling JumpShip and soon they were apart.[5]

Clan Invasion Era

Tukayyid and the Invisible Truth

During the preparation for the Battle of Tukayyid, he tirelessly worked himself and his men of the JumpShip to ensure all ComStar Forces he was transporting would reach Tukayyid in time for the massive Trial of Possession with the Clans. He was noticed by Anastasius Focht in efforts, and rewarded him with responiblity of reviving the Cameron Class Battlecrusier Invisible Truth in 3053. Transfered to ComStar's secret naval yard in the Luyten 68-28 system, he worked and his men revived ancient WarShip.

In 3058, Berewick would go down in history (secretly), as Invisible Truth, would clash with Word of Blake's Essex Class Destroyer, the WoBS Deliverance. Alain is able to defeat Blakist Warship in battle, force it to withdraw from the Ross Luyten 68-28. The first time in the Inner Sphere history such clash of its kind occured after centuries.[6]

Task Force Serpent

His action would propel him to top list of candidates to organize and lead re-born SLDF's Task Force Serpent.[7] He in 3059 would lead the Task Force of 13 JumpShips and 7 WarShips, including Invisible Truth in Deep Periphery on secret mission invade Huntress. During the voyage, Marshal Morgan Hasek-Davion institues rank changed to old SLDF ranks for duration of the mission, making Berewick a Commodore.

In December 3059, the Task Force encounters a small Clan Ghost Bear convoy consisting of Trio of WarShips and single Invader JumpShip filled with Civilian Castemen. The clash would be known later as Trafalgar, where his Warships and other Aerospace assets would conduct first large-scale Warship Naval battle in centuries. Alain is able lead his forces to victory, while safeguarding his task force. The Alain's crews are able to capture the Ghost Bear WarShip, Firefang, amists the fighting.[8] The Task Force, unable to bring majority of the survivors the battle with them, "beach" them on habitable world with basic means to survive.[9]

During the voyage, Marshal Hasek-Davion is murdered, Invisible Truth itself is nearly destroyed by sabotager. Despite hardships, they and General Ariana Winston are able stop the sabotager before he carried out his threat. He starts to build good repor with the Eridani Light Horse Brigade's commanding general and now Task Force Commander.

After advanced special forces were deployed to disable Huntress' SDS system, Berewick leads Task Force into Huntress system in March 5, 3060. There the Task force classes trio of WarShips that were defending the system, prevents them from attacking the ground forces going in.

Fourteen days after the invasion is nearly completed, the Clan Smoke Jaguar troops from their lost Occupation Zone arrive and attack Berewick and his task force. Beresick orders Task Force's fleet of JumpShips out system prevent their destruction. In clash, Invisible Truth receives consider amount damage, but is able to destroyed the Clan's Liberator Class Cruiser, Korat.

With Task Force remaining WarShips's heavily damaged, they miss the arrival of the Smoke Jaguar's Khan in his Black Lion Class Battlecruiser, Streaking Mist at Huntress's pirate point. However, Berewick is unable bring his ships in confront Clan WarShip. March 30th, he attempts to get hold of General Ariana Winston, report forces from Operation Bulldog had arrived to save the task force from destruction. However, the General was killed in last moment of the conflict on Huntress.[10][11]

Aftermath of Task Force Serpent

Beresick is promoted for his deeds during Task Serpent Force mission and elevated to Precentor Naval. He also given direct command of ComStar's First Fleet based out of Ross Luyten 68-28.[12][13]

During early years of the FedCom Civil War Precentor Beresick does errans for Victor Steiner-Davion. He meets with meets briefly with former Thorin militia commander Lieutenant-General Archer Christifori in 3063, where he hands him his new rank bars and message from Victor. By this time, he no longer part of the SLDF[14]

Jihad and Death

In late 3067 Precentor Beresick while in command of the Invisible Truth in Tharkad system, is forced to escape with Precentor Martial Steiner-Davion and his new spouse when the Blakist attack Tharkad. He is continuously forced on the run from them, while Case White goes without him and Precentor Martial in 3068.[15]

Selected as the commander of Taskforce EARTHBOUND, the Operation SCOUR assault on the orbital defenses around Terra, Beresick was at the helm of the Invisible Truth when it came under heavy attack from a Naga-class WarShip before he encountered his former friend and Blakist counterpart Gregory Zwick in command of Farragut-class WoBS Righteous Justice. Beresick declined his friend's offer of surrender, the pair's personal conflict ended as the Invisible Truth went down guns blazing, torn apart by the Blakist forces. [2]


Family

His had a cousin named Melissa, whom was married to his former best friend, Gregory Zwick.[16]

Notes

While using Master and Minions AToW special rules/abilities, Alain Beresick gives following abilities to vessel (individual unit) under his direct command. This unit would gain -1 to-hit modifier. Any forces (multiple units) under his direct command, the controlling player will be allowed use the option to move half their force after all enemy forces have moved. This is a one time ability per-scenario/game.[17]
