Ballad II
System Information
X:Y Coordinates-269.75:-465.07[e]

The Ballad II system was home to at least one habitable world and as at 3145 was an independent system on the border of the Magistracy of Canopus.[1][2]

System Description

The Ballad II system is located near the Cresson and Durabon systems.[3][4][5]

System History

The Ballad II system was either colonised by the Magistracy of Canopus during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War, or it was an already-settled system that joined the Magistracy during this era and became significant enough for Inner Sphere nations to begin recording its location on maps.[3][4][5]

Political Affiliation

Planetary History

Star League era

During the Star League era Ballad II was the provincial capital of the Ballad Province of the Magistracy of Canopus.[7]

The Dark Age

Ballad II was raided by a slaver operation from the Marian Hegemony in 3144 or just before; the slavers abducted over a thousand people, prompting the Magistracy Armed Forces to dispatch the First Magistracy Highlanders on a series of punitive deep raids into the Hegemony. The Highlanders spent almost a year working independently, smashing the slaver operation on Baccalieu and recovering all of the abducted citizens.[23]

Military Deployment

3079

- At this point in time, the Second Canopian Fusiliers were deployed across Ballad II and Weistheimer. The 2nd was at 70% of full strength.
