A subtype of the Transport DropShip concept, 'Mech Carriers are DropShips equipped with 'Mech bays. Typically designed to deliver BattleMechs to a combat zone, they can deploy combat-ready 'Mechs immediately upon landing, as opposed to [[:Category:cargo DropShips where the 'Mechs would have to be unloaded from the cargo bay first. The 'Mech bays on these DropShips also function as repair and maintenance hangars, and the ships provide bunk space for the MechWarrior (pilot) and his tech.
