Description[edit]

The Daedalus GTX2A is a 60 ton quad IndustrialMech. Its primary purpose is to carry cargo, but the flexibility of the chassis allowed many manufacturers to create customized versions. The 'Mech was particularly popular with the Star League Defense Force Corps of Engineers because it was so versatile. Though there were dozens in the Clan Homeworlds, no examples are known to have survived at the Pentagon Civil War to the present day.[2]

However, the Clans must have preserved the Daedalus' blueprints, as the Scorpion Empire restarted production of the Deadalus in 3151, to build industries.[4]

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The standard Daedalus GTX2A has a pair of Lift Hoists that bring cargo into the torso-mounted cargo bays.

Cargo[edit]

The Daedalus GTX2A "Stevedore" can carry 15 tons of cargo in its internal cargo bays. The bays are split into two bays, one in the left torso and one in the right torso. The left torso bay can carry seven tons of cargo, while the right bay can carry eight tons of cargo. These cargo pods were heated and pressurized, and so could be used to transport liquid, bulk, or live cargo with ease.[2]

Variants[edit]

  • GTX2 "Navvy"
This version reduces the Cargo Bay size to five tons. The available space is filled with a Rock Cutter and a Backhoe. It was most frequently used in cities for construction projects.[2] BV (2.0) = 663[5]

Notes[edit]

  • Certain desperate forces, during the Exodus Civil War have armed their IndustrialMechs. These armed IndustrialMechs are usually no match for dedicated BattleMechs, but can threaten infantry and light vehicles.[2]
