It Ends in Fire is a short story by Alan Brundage that was published in the twelfth issue of Shrapnel, showing the Battle of Irece (3142).
Plot summary
The Elemental Star Captain Horghuz had a meeting with Niko West, the Nova Cat's saKhan, which orders him to create a new unit, using solahma, trainees and paramilitary police, to fight the oncoming Draconis Combine invasion, as mobile reserve. He forms a Supernova with a motley collection of warriors, equipping them with whatever equipment they have.
