Description[edit]

Built at the Victoria plant which was recently refurbished with help from the Word of Blake, the Jinggau is built on a lightweight Chariot Type II Endo Steel chassis and is powered by a VOX 325 XL engine that gives it a top speed of 86.4 km/h. To increase its mobility, the Jinggau has five Hellespont Leaper jump jets that allow it to jump up to one hundred and fifty meters. For protection, the Jinggau carries eleven and a half tons of armor that protects the 'Mech from enemy fire. To dissipate the waste heat produced by the Jinggau's weapons and jump jets, the 'Mech has thirteen double heat sinks that are more than adequate. Overall, with its high ground speed, superior mobility, armor, and firepower the Jinggau is a 'Mech more than capable of handling most enemies on today's battlefield.[1]

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The primary weapon on the Jinggau is a powerful Zhi-tong-yao Gauss rifle that gives the 'Mech a maximum striking distance of up to six hundred and sixty meters which allows the Jinggau the opportunity to draw the first blood on the battlefield. For close combat, the Jinggau has a set of four Diverse Optics Type ER medium lasers and a single, highly accurate, Raker-IV medium pulse laser.[1]

Variants[edit]

  • JN-G7L
This variant was introduced just after the start of the Jihad, applying the latest Capellan technology to the 'Mech. A pair of plasma rifles are mounted in the right arm, while in the left arm, the 'Mech has been given six standard medium lasers. To help cope with the heat, the 'Mech's double heat sink count has been raised to fifteen. BV (2.0) = 2,137[6]
  • JN-G7Lr
In 3078 Clan Hell’s Horses salvaged many Jinggaus from battles with Capellan forces. The Clan was so impressed by the design they rebuilt these salvaged mechs with Clan technology. The G7Lr replaces the IS double heatsinks with smaller Clan versions, and also covers the mech in 11 tons of Clan Ferro-Fibrous. The pair of Plasma Rifles remain unchanged in the right arm, but the left arm now carries six Clan ER Medium Lasers and the head mounts a single Clan ER Small Laser. BV (2.0) = 2,703[7]
  • JN-G8Ar
The G8Ar is the second Hell’s Horses variant. Similar to the G7Lr the heatsinks and armor are now Clan grade. The entire weapons compliment remains essentially identical to the standard G8A but all weapons are now Clan tech. An ER Small Laser is added to the head and an ECM suite is added to the center torso. BV (2.0) = 2,730[8]
  • JN-G9B
Debuting in 3146, the G9B is a radical overhaul of this Capellan staple. The chassis’ already good protection is increased further to 13 tons. The pulse laser is upgraded to a Medium X-Pulse Laser and the explosive Gauss rifle is replaced by a clan-grade ER PPC. The left arm quartet of lasers remains unchanged. A host of other changes exist underneath the skin of the G9B. Triple Strength Myomer and a Supercharger are added. If both systems are engaged this Jinggau can run a staggering 120 kph. Additionally, the cockpit, gyro, and both hip actuators are armored. 17 double heatsinks keep the design fairly cool, though pilots will be able to activate the TSM with relative ease. BV (2.0) = 2,747[9]
  • JN-G9CCr
Originally an RAF refit of the G9CC, the G9CCr has proliferated out to the Confederation, Federated Suns and Free Worlds League. The Snub-Nose PPC of the G9CC is replaced with a Clan-grade ER PPC. BV (2.0) = 2,058[11]

Custom Variants[edit]

Design Quirks[edit]

The Jinggau has the following design quirks:[13][14]

Notable Pilots[edit]

  • Ion Rush - Piloted an experimental Jinggau prototype during the last campaign to repulse Blakist invaders from Sian in 3074.[15]
