The Niihau system was home to at least one habitable world and as of June 3152 was located in the Wolf Empire.[2]

The planet Niihau is noted for its namesake Niihau Honey, a popular export to the Lyran Alliance.[30]

Jihad[edit]

Niihau was one of the targets of the Skye and Bolan Province invasion of the Free Worlds League in 3068. The invasion by the combined forces of the two Provinces, named Operation ÜBERSCHATTEN, saw Niihau occupied along with the worlds of Autumn Wind and Gannett by the 20th of May 3068.[18] As a part of the peace terms agreed between Marshall Jeremy Brett of the FWLM and Duke Alder Umayr of Bolan - and as a result of battlefield attrition - the Lyran Alliance withdrew its forces from Niihau by the end of 3069.[19]

Dark Age[edit]

Following the Free Worlds League's dissolution Niihau became an independent world but by the early thirty-second century, when the planet was raided by Wolf's Dragoons at the behest of the Lyran Commonwealth, it had been annexed by the neighboring Duchy of Tamarind-Abbey.[22][31]

During Operation HAMMERFALL Niihau fell to the Lyran Commonwealth. After Clan Wolf turned upon its Lyran ally, the Fifth Lyran Guards who were stationed on Niihau found themselves trapped on the world and waged a guerilla campaign against the Wolf occupiers from 3142 until they were evacuated in early 3144.[25][32]

IlClan Era[edit]

In April 3151 Niihau was one of several Wolf Empire worlds raided by mercenaries hired by Duke Fontaine Marik of Tamarind-Abbey.[33]
