Description
The Trebaruna is a Quad configured Assault BattleMech that was originally designed by the Word of Blake Protectorate. Production plans were canceled by the Word of Blake in 3078, when Allied Coalition forces had finally closing in on Terra. The design was discovered by Coalition members, and was offered to all the partners.
The design was put into production by Republic of the Sphere as part of its newly formed armed forces in 3081. The Marik-Stewart Commonwealth and Capellan Confederation would soon produce the designs for themselves.[2]
Armament & Capacities
The Trebaruna is design to fight its opponents are long ranges. Its main weapon is its right torso mounted Gauss Rifle, with 2 tons of ammunition. Backing up the weapon is 3 Light Particle Projection Cannons found in opposite torso. These weapons are guided by a Targeting Computer located in the 'Mech left torso. The 'Mech is fitted with 20 Double Heat Sinks to help cope with weapon and engine heat.
The hull is protected by 16 tons of Durallex Heavy Armor, with CASE imbedded into right torso. The Trebaruna uses a reliable Pitban 285 rated Fusion Engine as its source of power. The Pitban's standard designs helps to keep the design from being crippled too easily. To aid the 'Mech in coping with lack of no rear facing weapons and its modest speed, the design been given five Improved Jump Jets.[3]
Variants
- TR-XJ - Produced by FWL Splinter nation of Marik-Stewart Commonwealth, the XJ variant differs from original XB in secondary weapons and targeting equipment. Its Targeting Computer has been removed in place of more conventional targeting system. The Light PPCs have been replaced by pair of Snub-Nose PPCs. In additional, the 'Mech armor and Double Heat Sink has been increased. BV(2.0)=????[4]
- TR-XL - This variant was produced by Capellan Confederation, who soldiers had discovered the Blakist design during their liberation efforts in later part of the Jihad. The variant has the Gauss Rifle replaced by a LB 20-X Class Autocannon, and Light PPCs are changed out for pair of Plasma Rifles. The 'Mechs' ammunition is protected by CASE in the 'Mech's left torso, while the design armor has been increased to 17.5 tons. To allow for the additional armor and new equipment, the standard Fusion Engine is exchanged for a Light Fusion Engine. BV(2.0)=????[5]
