Vincent's Commandos was a understrength Battlemech regiment in service to House Liao.[1]

History

Early Succession Wars

The Capellan regiment was formed from serval Commando Battalions, finally forming over course of few years by 2810. The unit was destroyed just after its formation in 2812 when it partipated in retaking of Davion held world of Chesterton. The unit was mauled by the Third and Fifth Crucis Lancers, along with its sister units Cochraine's Goliaths, First and Second Ariana Fusiliers.[2]

The unit was reformed in 2813, shedding much of its heavy BattleMechs and other vehicles to become more mobile. The regiment acquisitioned number of Commando light BattleMechs and air-borne mobile equipment for the regiment's new enhance mobility doctrine.

In 2830, new mobility was put to the test and succeded in defeating the Marik mercenary unit, Nathan's Irregulars on Ling. Utilitizing its SRM armed Jump Troops, and light 'Mech, the Commandos' combined arms successfully lead to the destruction of the Irregular's five Manticore heavy tanks, with little losses.

In the Third Succession War, the unit was deployed in Capellan March border, helping fend off number of minor incursion done by House Davion. It then was shifted to Marik, in 2965. While on the Marik frontier, the Commandos conducted a raid against Marik nobility's estate on world of Lopez. This netted several tons of gold and silver gold bullion.

The unit last major engagement of Third Succession War in 2995, against elements of the Regulan Hussars on Marik world of Berenson. This was another attempt in their raiding Marik worlds, they found themselves an surprisinely equal opponent. Catching the Hussars as they were prepping to raid Liao world of Thomas, the regiment fought six-hour running battle with them. At many times during the battle, these Commandos and Hussars fought hand-to-hand in brief close quarters clashes. The battle turn into victory for the Commandos, nearly destroying entire unit, including killing its commanding officer, Colonel Michalmass Brassard.

After the battle on Berenson, the unit fell back conducting high-risk recon missions into the House Davion space for durations Third Succession War. They were credited for disrupting FedSun invasion preparations during this time.[1]

Fourth Succession War and Destruction

In August 3028, Vincent's Commandos were assigned to Liao as part of the planetary garrison along with Warrior House LuSann and the 1st Confederation Reserve Cavalry. Also on world were the Prefectorate Guard regiment of the Capellan Hussars who had arrived for training excerises with Commandos and its fellow garrison units. As training was about to begin, a House Davion Task Force would arrive marking the beginning of the Fourth Succession War. The Task Force, led by the 33rd Avalon Hussars, also included all three mercenary regiments of the Blue Star Irregulars.[3] The Blue Star Irregulars 189th Light Horse regiment landed on Liao's southern continent and annihilated the Commandos.[4]
