Overview[edit]

Star Colonel Miguel Riley landed on Marshall with a BattleMech Cluster to face two ’Mech Binaries and an assortment of combat vehicles and infantry. Already lopsided, Riley declared a right to destroy the "dezgra" enemy he faced through any means possible. Warrior Annalise Francaix was assigned to a Mongoose C in a recon Star and was ordered to fire on an unknown target at the edge of her range. After engaging as ordered and closing with the target she was horrified to discover she had targeted unarmed Adder civilians. This scene repeated itself throughout the planet as the Cluster laid waste to anything they encountered. After a week the Star Adder garrison forces were destroyed, but the civilians were so incensed they took up arms themselves. Enraged by this chalcas conduct, Riley ordered the civilian massacre increased, costing the lives of tens of thousands. Upon hearing that Adder saKhan Dembe N'Buta was en route with his Quasar Keshik, Riley departed the world.[1][2]

Aftermath[edit]

SaKhan N'Buta caught up with the Cluster on Tokasha and ordered the execution of every Warrior in the unit. Annalise Francaix was so shaken by the dishonorable slaughter she offered no resistance. N'Buta personally executed Riley and his last few officers, sending Riley's decapitated corpse to Khan Davis Riley with the message "This is your surkairede. To forgive is expected; to forget is impossible." N'Buta than gathered every Mongoose civilian on Tokasha and moved them to Marshall to repopulate the colony.[1][2]
